Hire purchase allows you the freedom to settle your finance early and receive a rebate of interest, unlike most high street lenders.

Hire Purchase
Hire purchase has been the most popular way of purchasing a new vehicle privately for many years now due to its simplicity.

To purchase a vehicle on HP you just pay an initial deposit of cash (the minimum usually being £99, but sometimes no deposit is required at all) we will also accept your existing car in part exchange regardless of age and condition.

If you wish to change your vehicle before your agreement has ended, the finance company will provide you with a settlement figure, which once paid passes full ownership of the vehicle to you. This then allows you to change your vehicle and enter into a new agreement.

Your Car as Part Exchange
Here at Smalley and Sharples we are always happy to accept your old car as a part exchange when purchasing a vehicle. We will take any car as part exchange and only take age, condition and mileage into consideration when valuing your car.

All you need to do is bring your vehicle to our site along with all documentation for the car. This includes the vehicle log book (V5), MOT certificate (where applicable) and any service history (where applicable). We can guarantee that our highly trained sales team will always aim to give you the best valuation on your car in a deal to suit you.

Credit Cards/Debit Cards
We take all major credit cards, ie, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Switch, Solo, Electron, Maestro etc. Please note that on all Credit Card Transactions we do pass on a 2.5% of the balance charge, this does not apply to debit card transactions.

Cash
Cash (within reasonable amounts), Bankers Drafts and Building Society Counter Cheques are acceptable methods of payment. Personal Cheques will require 5 working days to clear.

Proof of Identification Required
For all financed Vehicles, you must bring with you:

1. Full UK driving licence (holders of photo ID licence’s must bring in the counter part)
2. Utility Bill (Must be dated within the last 3 months and showing current address)
3. Proof of Signature e.g. Credit/Debit Card
4. Last two Wage Slips
5. Your Part Exchange Documents if a part exchange vehicle is applicable.
